If a visitor leaves a comment on our site, we gather the information displayed in the comment form, the IP-address of the visitor, and the browser user agent to help detect spam.
An anonymized string made based on your e-mail address (this is called a hash) can be sent to the Gravatar service in the case that you use this. The privacy statement page is found on: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture becomes publicly visible in context of your comment.

If you are a registered user and upload images to the website, you should prevent uploading images containing EXIF GPS information. Visitors of the site can download these images and view this information.

How long we save your data
When you leave a comment, that comment and the metadata of the comment are saved for ever. This way we can automatically recognize and approve follow-up comments instead of having to moderate them.
